Ashura mourning ceremony held in West Africa

Shia minority in the Niger Republic commemorated Ashura rituals in Niamey, the capital of the West African country.

The people in Niger also mourned Imam Hussain’s (AS) martyrdom, observing precessions on Monday in Birnin-Konni, a town in the Tahoua region.

Older people, youth, women, and children gathered in Niamey for the annual commemorations of the martyrdom of Imam Husain (AS) and his companions in the battle of Karbala in 61 AH.
