Iran’s foreign ministry has issued a travel advisory for Iranian nationals, urging them to avoid “unnecessary travel” to Australia.

In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry advised Iranian citizens, especially students, researchers and university professors, to reconsider unnecessary trips to Australia.

The statement cited the “possibility of arbitrary arrests” of Iranian nationals in the country and their “extradition to hostile governments without any reason.”
