Kashagan Oil Field still working at Half Capacity

Oil production at Kazakhstan’s largest oil and gas field, Kashagan, has slowed since August, as repairs continue, Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov said.

“Oil production at Kashagan amounted to 8.7 million tonnes or 17% below the target for January-September 2022. Production fell after a leak at the gas separation unit at the Bolashak plant in August,” Akchulakov said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
