Rishi Sunak inherits massive problems as Britain’s latest PM

Rishi Sunak is one of the youngest and least experienced politicians to become prime minister of the United Kingdom.

After seven years in parliament and two years as Chancellor of the Exchequer, the 42-year-old takes over at time when his country faces a series of crises, and his party remains in shock and turmoil after seeing five prime ministers serve in just six years.

On day one in the new job, Sunak promised a “government of integrity, professionalism and accountability”.
