Scientists say that people who consume more foods or drinks containing antioxidant flavonols experience slower cognitive decline, writes techinsider .
Specialists at the Rush Medical Center in Chicago recruited 961 people with an average age of 81 who did not have dementia at the time. Each year for seven years, participants completed a questionnaire about how often they ate listed foods and completed cognitive and memory tests, including remembering words, numbers, and placing them in a specific order. The volunteers were then divided into 5 equal groups based on the amount of flavanols they had in their diet.
